Smart Material was proud to be part of the prestigious IUVSTA TEMTEM 2023 Workshop, held in Valencia (Spain) from December 18th to 21st. This event brought together global leaders in the characterization and development of advanced energy materials, focusing on solar energy, thermoelectric technologies, and battery storage solutions. Our platform, Smart Material, was at the center of several key discussions, showcasing its role in the discovery and optimization of materials through artificial intelligence.
A Platform for Innovation in Energy Materials
TEMTEM 2023 offered a unique space for theoretical and experimental scientists to share their latest research in energy materials, particularly in fields like photovoltaics, thermoelectric energy, and electrochemical energy storage. Smart Material, an AI-driven platform, aligns perfectly with the workshop’s goal of optimizing energy solutions through interdisciplinary approaches. During the four-day event, the Smart Material team had the opportunity to present the platform in a keynote talk and participate in a round table on AI’s role in accelerating the discovery of new materials.
Smart Material’s Key Contributions
At the heart of Smart Material’s participation were two insightful talks:
- Artificial Intelligence for Improving and Discovering Advanced Materials
- Smart Material: An Artificial Intelligence Platform for Optimization and Discovery of Advanced Materials
Both talks focused on how our AI platform empowers researchers to accelerate the discovery process for materials by predicting properties and performance, reducing costly trial-and-error experiments. In line with the workshop’s theme, our team illustrated how Smart Material is being used to advance research in high-efficiency solar cells, thermoelectric materials, and cutting-edge battery technologies.
Engaging with the AI Revolution in Materials Science
One of the highlights of the workshop was the round table discussion on AI and informatics tools for material discovery. Smart Material’s engineers shared their insights alongside leading scientists, discussing how AI-driven platforms are reshaping the research landscape by integrating vast experimental and theoretical datasets. This discussion emphasized the importance of AI in solving today’s energy challenges, particularly in the areas of battery safety and green electrochemical energy storage.
Fostering Future Collaborations
TEMTEM 2023 not only highlighted the current challenges in energy materials but also provided an excellent platform for networking and fostering new collaborations. The interdisciplinary nature of the event encouraged knowledge exchange across various sectors, and Smart Material is excited to continue building partnerships with both academic and industrial leaders in materials science.
At Smart Material, we believe that AI has the power to revolutionize material discovery, and we are thrilled to have shared our vision at TEMTEM 2023. We look forward to further contributing to the advancement of sustainable energy solutions through our innovative platform.
